The aim is to examine the possibility of increasing surface standard with varying intensity interventions and proposals for improvement of the technical condition of the building. Suggest three basic variants of reconstruction A, B, C according to the type, shape and position of the staircase. For a detailed elaboration select one variant - C2. Designing the two approaches to improve the technical condition of the building and internal microclimate - internal and external insulation. Design of concrete structure of the Letná hotel in Prague
Koníček, Jakub ; Nováček, Jan (referee) ; Zich, Miloš (advisor)
The presented master thesis contains the design of selected elements of the supporting structure of the Letná congress hotel. The thesis deals with the design of a six-storey hotel cantilever over 20 m long, which rises over the entrance portals of the Blanka tunnel complex. Moreover, the specificity of the whole project is the necessity to carry out the entire construction of the mentioned part without touching the ground. The described problem was solved primarily using two double to 3 m high prestressed concrete beams. One pair of beams is designed above the roof plane and the other below the plane of the first floor in the cantilever. The tensile forces induced in the vertical supports are transferred by the prestressed columns and with the help of the walls. Construction without ground contact is carried out using suspension on temporary hangers. In the present thesis work, the main beam of the cantilever H1, D1, reinforced concrete slabs of given levels forming the T-section flange of the main beams, the spread walls, the transverse walls under the transversal frames with the main beams and the respective columns have been designed. SCIA Engeneer 22.0, Idea StatiCa Beam 22.0, Idea StatiCa Detail 22.0, PTC MathCad Prime 8, and MS Office 360 Excel 2022 were used to solve this complex construction stage-dependent problem.
The Architecture of the City: Aldo Rossi’s notion of permanence in a Czech context using the example of the Letná development in Prague
Stoklásek, Rostislav
By the extent of its observation, Aldo Rossi’s notion of permanence, from his book „The Architecture of the City”, shows the potential for its contemporary application. The paper describes the modern development of Letná using Rossi’s concept of permanence. Letná is an area with a well-documented evolution of plans, expectations, and constructions. The paper shows how Rossi’s work enables the linking of individual stages of Letná’s development, being able to also describe its non-physical artifacts. This case study analysis proves the usability of the applied terminology for further research on permanence in Czech urban structures.

Tvrdá, Zuzana ; Biegel, Richard (advisor) ; Macek, Petr (referee)
The aim of this work is to describe events that followed approval of the construction work of the gallery. Following the first prize of the architectural competition for design of the gallery, Josef Gočár was entrusted with the construction of the building. Analysis was focused especially on 20s and 30s of the 20th century. Individual chapters deal with all designs produced for Kampa and Letna, respectively. Apart from the description of the designs, this work carefully follows background of their creation and reactions the building invoked. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
